About Us

God has blessed a tremendously talented group of young men and women with the magnificent tool of Acappella singing to generate a renewed spirit of adoration and devotion.

History-Psallo, A Praise and Worship Team, is made up of eleven dedicated members (five women and five men) from the churches of Christ in greater Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The ministry was combined approximately 16 years ago to form a teaching ministry. This medium of instruction is incorporated in the corporate worship and presented in workshop settings. Psallo believes that praise and worship should not be limited to the worship assembly or song practices; it should be a part of the Christian life.

Psallo exists for the purpose of equipping the people of GOD, to offer authentic praise and sacrifice to Him in response to his redemptive work through the resurrection. We believe that mankind exist for no other purpose but to live to praise, honor and glorify His name; to make praise and worship a natural part of his daily practices; visiting Him in prayer, praise, fellowship, study communion and self-sacrifice.

My love for music and singing was passed down from my family. My musical foundation was built on several genres of music from jazz and classical to ‘doo wop’ and the "acapella-style" music of the Church of Christ. My love has grown into a passion! I spent several years enjoying singing with bands, choral groups and ensembles. At some point, I realized that my passion became more about the ministry that God gave me and less about the singing and performing. I use His gift to edify, uplift and support the Kingdom and His Church. As one of the pioneering members of Psallo, I have been abundantly blessed by this calling, teaching and ministry. My praise and worship will never be the same!

Music is a passion for me. I grew up in a singing family and I was blessed to be at a congregation with a great praise and worship experience. I spent seven years (way too long ago) as the bass singer for AVB (Acappella Vocal Band); I now serve on the worship team at Quail Springs Church of Christ and direct Oklahoma Christian’s student acappella group, New Reign. I’m deeply blessed to be a part of the Psallo family. Psallo’s unique style has given me the opportunity to enrich my musical experience. Music is a gift, and so are the relationships we have in the family of God! I’m humbled even to play a small role in the Psallo ministry. Be joyful and revived!

As one of the newest members of Psallo, singing brings me great joy. I enjoy sharing music and praise that touches the souls of those who partake in our services. Growing up in the Church of Christ, I have been privileged to have family who sings and worships together. An atmosphere of song and praise has been ever present in our lives. I thank GOD for my singing talents. I attribute my musical influences to my Dad, John Black, Sr., my uncle and aunt, Thomas and Donna Davis. I will always be indebted to Mark Campbell for inviting me to join Psallo. This has been an amazing journey in this ministry of song.

Delicia Malkia Smith aka “Ya Ya”, soprano, obeyed the gospel at the Figueroa Church of Christ at the age of eight. She has utilized her love for music to spread the gospel. At the age of three she was a member of the Little Angels. Later on she became a member United Children’s Choir, As One Vision, Special Occasions and currently, Psallo.

Not only has she used her voice for the Lord, she has recorded for various upcoming and well known recording artists, voice-over work for Disney and has a morning radio show every Saturday at noon on KLAS FM Radio.

It is has always been a passion of hers to utilize her talents and wisdom to help others. As a former Girl Scout Leader, she has learned that giving is one of life’s great rewards. One of the many rewards is having the opportunity to coach young ladies and gentlemen competing at the State and National Youth Conferences. “A few years ago” she won Miss State Congeniality and was first Runner Up for Miss National Congeniality.
When she isn’t working for a prestigious accounting firm in the Inland Empire, she enjoys reading, writing poetry and music in her leisure time.

Her favorite bible verse is Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

I have been singing since about the age of eight. I didn’t begin to appreciate my gift until about the age of 19. I have always had a love and admiration of the human voice and its potential to produce the sound of any instrument. I believe the human voice is the basis of all man-made instruments. PSALLO Ministries has truly enriched my life. The fellowship and camaraderie we share with one another is what ‘unity in the Spirit’ is all about. I always have an overwhelming connection to my brothers and sisters of PSALLO when we sing. It’s an elation I have yet to be able to describe. You have to undergo a PSALLO encounter to experience what I’m talking about. "Vertically Driven” Yes, I am!

Singing with Psallo has been life changing. What a wonderful opportunity to express my love and adoration for God with such a talented, committed group of people. The experience has placed me closer to the Savior and His people. It has opened my heart to praise Him in ways I did not know were possible. It has brought me closer to those that I have known and admired for years. I am humbled to stand in His presence and open the door to His throne room for all His people to praise Him in song. What a blessed experience.

Being the head of a household of 5 including myself, it’s very important that I set the tone spiritually…and being a member of Psallo definitely helps. I've been singing Christian music for over 16 years, but I've only been praising God while singing for about 7 years. I think I like it on this side a lot better. I believe that developing a strong relationship with God; praising Him for His goodness and worshipping his Kingship is needed…and it has been so beneficial for me, my wife Brandie, our two girls, Simone and Sydni, and our new one, Drew. In the beginning of this journey I really had only joined because 1) I love beautiful music; 2) I love to sing; 3) Fate Hagood III thought it would be a good idea to incorporate it into our Sunday service worship and 4) Mark told me he needed another tenor. I wouldn't trade my Psallo family for anything, and I definitely wouldn't give up on promoting this ministry, the message, its purpose, and especially the opportunity to lift my voice to God in a way He finds favor in. God is Good all the time…and all the time God is Good!

I am the youngest of seven children born to W.J. and Rachel Osborn. Although I’m a native Californian, I’ve lived in Texas, Kentucky and Tennessee. My passion is singing. I was awarded a scholarship in Music & Vocal Performance at Southwestern Christian College. I have traveled extensively to 45 states and Canada spreading the gospel through song. My life has taken on a new meaning since I have become a member of Psallo. My association with this praise team for these last nine years has helped to elevate my spiritual walk with God. My goal in life is to maintain a mind of spiritual purpose. Psallo allows me to encourage others through song.

My musical talent was first noticed by my 7th grade music teacher who told me I had beautiful solo voice and should join the madrigal singing group at school. I took her advice and the more I sang, the more I wanted to sing…”Thank you Mrs. Jackson and thank you God!” In my Christian walk, my aim is to continue to let my light shine singing praises to His name, in hopes that the souls of many will hear, believe, repent, confess and be baptized. I would like to thank my husband, Ivory and family for their support and words of encouragement. Peace out!

My name is Patricia Michelle Lee and currently, I am taking time off from school to pursue a career in singing. I am one of the newest members of the Psallo Praise and Worship Team, with whom I had my first performance at the annual Worship on the Mount, Magic Mtn. in summer 2003. I count it as an incredible blessing to use the gift God has given me along with the rest of the Psallo members to minister to people through song. Psallo has now become my second family and I thank God everyday for blessing me to be a part of such a wonderful ministry.
